Are there alternatives in the education system? Is traditional education doing more harm than good?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
The issue of modernization of education has grown in importance from last one decade. Many academics think that traditional schooling is boring and suppresses the child’s natural talents like creativity, more innovative learning has upper hand on traditional education. This essay will discuss both methods of education and will try to justify with examples from UNESCO and international education organization.
Traditional education system worldwide is based on academic ability, competition and intelligence which aims to built successful career and acquire well paid jobs. In this economic environment public education has failed to fulfill its purpose as degrees are losing it values. For example a study from international education organization had proven that 30 % people with bachelor degrees has lost their jobs as these positions are filled with master degree holders. Therefore it proves that this traditional education is causing more harm than benefit.
Digitalization of education has brought more innovations to the education. In this system one can study according to their own requirements and abilities. Online study opens the new doors for pupils, where academic subjects can be combined with music and art subjects which will help to stimulate the creative skills. A study from UNESCO has proven that students from online study outperformed the students from traditional schooling.
To sum up future of education will depend on creativity of the individual and teachers will have to use the individualized approach in education.

The three pie charts reveals the distribution of spending in six different sectors education, leisure activities, social services , environment, community care and other in three counties of the United Kingdom in 2014.
Of the three counties Yorkshire spent most on education followed by Lancashire and finally Derbyshire. Derbyshire spent the most on leisure 35%, Yorkshire spent 25 % and Lancashire slightly more than 30 %. Derbyshire spent the most on community care reaching 20 %, whereas other two counties Yorkshire and Lancashire at 18% and 20 % respectively. All the three regions spent minimum on th environment between 5-10 %. Social services spending was at 15 % for Yorkshire, 10 % for Derbyshire and just 3 % for Lancashire which is lowest of all.
Overall, amongst the regions, education and leisure activities make up the largest expense followed by community care environment, others and social services being amongst the lowest.
