Do you agree or disagree? Give reasons for your answer and include relevant examples from your experience.
Education is the only important thing for children and therefore, they should be encouraged to do nothing but educational activities. In my opinion, outside-school activities are equally important and beneficial as study to young students.
Children would require many other skills in addition to intellectual ones. This could be achieved through activities such as sports, games and spending considerable amount of time with their peers. Participating in team sports, for example, children can learn the skills of cooperation and getting on with others, and since winning and losing in a sport are so commonly experienced that children would be trained enough to develop adequate social skills. Seen in this light, acquiring many sets of skills in both social and academic is crucial for a young child and should be equally worth of spending time to do.
Parents might be correct of seeing the educational contribution is the only factor matters to a child’s development, since good career path sets on high academic achievements, be that as it may, excessive study time can dampen students’ learning initiative. This is because human brain, especially for kids, is designed to function in a balanced fashion, and long and arduous hours spent on doing one particular thing can cause concentration problem. For instance, many parents may be seen complaining about the weariness of study of their children’s. Therefore, spending sometime to play can facilitate children’s learning process.
Overall, I believe that children involved in leisure activities in addition to their daily study routines are benefited more than those who are constantly soaking in school books.
