It is commonly believed that vocabulary is the solution to improve the reading area because it gives you more knowledge. Consequently, you will be able to scan the text, as in an exam that you have to answer questions linked to a text, you need to understand vocabulary before scanning a text. Furthermore, the gains of vocabulary gives you the secret to understand paraphrases inside the text, being an important way to improve your perusal.
On the other hand, it is always thought that the productive abilities are the most important, due to acquaint you with the reading activity.
