The map shows the plan of a building developed on two levels.

Overall, the main floor covers more than twice the area of the lower level indoors, while the outdoor space is about the same size, comprehending a terrace and a patio.

The lower level corresponds to the left part of the main floor and they have some structural similarities, even if they are given different purposes. Both of the levels see a bedroom in the top left corner and next to it a service area including mainly a laundry and a bath in the lower level and two bathrooms in the first floor. The remaining space is set to be an activity room and divided into two bedrooms respectively.

The rest of the main floor covers four large areas: from left to right and top to bottom it includes a dining room, a kitchen, a garage, and a living room. In addition, next to the last one there is the entry, that also links the two part of this level.

These days more and more people are travelling domestically or internationally. There are clearly many benefits to it but there are some who argue that it has also some drawbacks. Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of travelling.
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Nowadays it is becoming easier and easier to travel and benefit the extraordinary opportunities it implies, yet some studies claim this trend also has negatives. In my view, the advantages of visiting places both close and far from home outweigh its disadvantages.

On one hand, travelling represents the chance for everyone to get in touch with different cultures, lifestyles and traditions. This possibility can be seen as a chance of personal growth: as proven by a recent survey, 7 travellers out of 10 state that they think the person they are on the way back is not the same they were when they first left. As a consequence, being able to comfortably reach any corner of the globe is an experience that could personally enrich most of us.

On the other hand, it also causes higher consumptions of fuel and more means of transport around, hence pollution and heavy traffic. This is largely due to the expansion of low cost companies such as Ryanair, as thanks to their low prices more customers can afford to travel. A study in 2015, for instance, showed that these days 70% of the families in the UK travel by plane at least once a year, whereas back in the 90s only 30% of them did. Therefore, less expensive deals lead to higher sales and, consequentially, higher emissions and lengthy delays due to the considerable traffic.

To conclude, I believe the personal growth offered by a journey outweighs the problems caused by the high number of transports that take place over the globe daily. A good compromise for the near future will be given by the development of green solutions.
