while Writing and Speaking are the building blocks of communication, without it the economy will fall apart.
There are arguments on both sides, however which will discuss here.

On the one hand, it might be said that if a person vocabulary is good, he can easily skim and scan the text in a reading comprehension passage to lookout for answers. Synonyms could be another way of finding answers in reading comprehension passages. For Example, in the IELTS Exam, a student is suppose to answer 40 questions in 30 minutes to qualify for a band score of 9, which requires a great deal of attention and a good vocabulary.
Conversely, Writing represents an idea, abstract or any thought that could be expressed in any written form of communication. Writing give birth to generation of new ideas out of human mind, which can be easily documented and stored for future references. Speaking helps in removing clouds of self-doubt and allow people to articulately send across their ideas and thoughts to audience. For example, people with prolific writing and speaking skill can excel in more than one career in their life.
Overall, it seems that all three factors Writing, Speaking and Vocabulary gives a good insight of a person knowledge about vocabulary, reading and speaking,what to use here irreplaceable in our economy.
