Reading books has been renowned for one of the best conventional ways to develop skills and imagination for children. However, children can enhance their skills and imagination more efficiently through enjoyable activities. This essay will analyze and compare benefits of both methods by using examples.
Firstly, playing an activity allows children to maximize the development and check their progress visually, which cannot be obtained through reading books. This is because reading is one way communication but performing an enjoyable activity usually involve more than one person. For example, when parents play a computer game with a child constantly, they can support their child to reduce the weakness and recognize how much progress the child makes on an ongoing basis. Therefore, a noticeable progress on the improvement of skills and imagination can be achieved by playing an activity with a child.
Secondly, playing an activity enables children to practice and develop their skills in realistic situations. Recent studies from Harvard university have shown that activities with a person can increase the efficiency of developing skills up to 200% comparing to sole discipline. For instance, a child can learn how to create a strategy in a chess game by reading books but the quality of strategy only can be judged when playing a chess game with someone. As a result, skills learned from books can be limited and mislead in other ways.
To conclude from the examples and arguments given, I strongly agree that doing an enjoyable activity is a better method to enhance skills and imagination than just reading books.

In the modern society, new technologies and lifestyles have made changes on communication. Some people argue that communication between family members has increased by supports of new technologies. In my opinion, communication between family members declines nowadays due to the competitive society and technical gadgets.
Firstly, the society in recent years requires people to live competitively. This phenomenon results in reducing time for conversation with family members. For example, students need to take extracurricular activities such as computer coding and swimming, . Consequently, time to have conversation with family members is decreased accordingly. Therefore, limited time can be used for communication.
Secondly, the Internet and smartphones have become a part of life. This shift has introduced different ways of communication such as Facebook and Facetime. Some people argue that the digital revolution and its technology such as video conference calls between two different countries .assists communication between family members. However, these technologies have detrimental effects on the face-to-face interaction. For instance, people bring their phones into the table even when having meals together and keep focusing on their smartphones rather than talking together in a car. As a result, the new phenomenon brought a shorter conversation lengths to the family.
In the conclusion from examples and arguments, I strongly agree that communication between family members has been diminished significantly in the recent years with the consequence of competitive society and newly introduced communication methods.
