I firmly believe that we are not only being reliable on technology but also performing less intellectually. This essay will discuss both these views, and use examples from communication media and the calculator to demonstrate points and support arguments.
On one hand, in this modern era most OF THE worldwide population is reliant on technology, especially compared to the last few years. This is largely because they use email, telephone, and SMS services to conventional methods of sending letters. Moreover this technological advancement in communication media consumes less time. For example, recent research in India indicates that 60% of post offices have become dormant. Therefore most of society appreciate this contemporary trend and clearly have opted to adapt to technology.
On the other hand, cognitive and learning abilities are decreasing even in performing simpler tasks. This is due to the fact that nowadays students are unaware of the application of algorithm chart and geometric theorems. Furthermore they require a calculator for solving simple arithmetic expressions. To illustrate, recent study in Harvard indicates that seven out of ten school were unable to score full marks in simple mathematical tests without using a calculator. As a consequence, overuse of technology is certainly affecting the cognitive domain of human beings.
To summarize, although the technological revolution is unjustifiably the highest peak for mankind there are still perilous effects to be associated with an over reliance on technology. Hence, I believe that human beings will become slaves of technology in THE near future.
Task 1- horizontal bar graph
The bar graph shows the three European countries will be visiting to four expected cities namely Istanbul, Madrid, Paris and London in 2018.
The largest number of Mexican people are to visit Madrid, which is just more than 60,000. Whereas, in other three cities approximately 20,000 or just more will be visiting. Istanbul is most popular among Canadian tourist, which makes up to 70,000. Madrid have the lowest tourism by Canadians as compared to Mexico, where it is at the lower level. London and Paris attracts just around 50,000 Canadians.
In U.S.A., a very large number of people that is one lakh Americans are interested to visit Paris. This clearly shows Paris is the most favourite destination in United States compared to other cities, Istanbul, Madrid and London which accounts for approximately 60, 70, 80 thousands visitors respectively.
Overall, all the three countries have their own preferences of tourism choices. However, the only similarity which is observed in Mexico and U.S.A., tourist for Paris are always higher in number than London.
