Others argue that productive skills such as writing and speaking are more important. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

Ans:
There is an argument among some people on whether vocabulary acquisition is the key area to improve reading comprehension or whether productive skill such as writing and speaking are more important for improving reading comprehension.

On the one hand, the knowledge of the word and vocabulary have great effect to comprihension of the passage. according to me, vocabulary is important in reading comprehenssion as one can explian its expression more accurately also which increases interaction. Readers can not understand what they are reading without knowing what the words mean. As per my openion, to know the language better to express one’s openion vocabulary building plays a crucial role which also bring fluency in language.

On the other hand, skills like writing and speaking are also important because i think, writing is way of transmitting knowledge in print. both depend on each other, we express our knowledge through writing and reading increases our knowledge. my point of view is speaking also much important, as a medium of expression. we express our thoughts, openion through words, by way of speaking. here i can give one example, If your boss gives you an important documents and ask to interpreate the same in your language; here if you can speake well, you will be able to interpreate and communicate the document . speaking is also important for the studentds in their foreign languag courses. which gives them good opportunity in carrier/ job.

To conclude, I think, all the three skills, i.e. Writing, Speaking, and Vocabulary are equally essential to avoid functional illiteracy. Lack of any of the skill wil make it difficult to manage daily living. For one’s progress it is important to analyse, understand and deliver the information by use of all the three skills mentioned.
